Jump were commissioned by Engage Sports Media to create a new title sequence and a complete kit of programme graphics for the self-titled flagship weekly magazine television show – as well as graphics elements for online digital content.
The titles needed to reflect the new brand and World Rugby’s involvement with all levels of rugby from grass roots, kids and womens, through to Sevens and internationals.
The sequence is based on creating a World Rugby globe – which contains the pimpled surface of a rugby ball and the blue to green brand gradient colours. The graticules on the globe create a framework for VT clips of inspiring rugby action which get introduced as the sphere spins around. Ultimately these graticules animate to become the new logo badge.
