Champions Hockey League Draw 2020/21

Client: CHL & Infront

Jump was commissioned by Infront to revamp the opening title sequence for the Champions Hockey League 2020/2021 season, to bring the style in line with the broadcast graphics package that they designed for CHL three years ago. Jump had created the previous opening sequence for the same season.

The new titles and the updated programme graphics launched on the tournament’s Live Group Stage Draw which broadcast from Zurich on 3rd June.

Uzi Kakuda (Head of TV Production & HB Operations, CHL)

“Both Infront and CHL are absolutely delighted with the new sequence as Jump’s creative direction perfectly brought to life a very specific vision and approach that we wanted to take this time around.  As the collaboration and development process were timely and efficient as usual (and remained unfettered by the effects of the lockdown), it was clear that their preparatory work and technical infrastructure ensured a smooth workflow throughout.”

Lee Jacobs (Art Director, Jump)

“With this sequence we offered a more dynamic, graphic approach to tie in more tightly with the new brand and hugely successful match graphics. This will allow us to generate multiple sequences for the CHL throughout the season, creating bespoke draw, group stage and playoff versions to keep the gameplay footage fresh and relevant to the competition. We will continue to update this version of the sequence for the next 3 seasons.”

Hannah Nicholls (Senior Production Manager, Jump)

“Jump had already been commissioned on the project before the Covid-19 lockdown occurred. We have had full access to the company servers while working remotely, including access to all of the footage that was already being collated for the sequence. We were also very careful to make sure all the previous work projects from 2017 were unarchived and on the server before we locked up the office to work remotely. Everything went very smoothly.”
