IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship

Client: Infront Productions

Earlier this year Jump secured a three year contract with Infront Productions to create the broadcast toolkit for the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships. The IIHF is the governing body of international ice hockey. The package was to be easily updatable and included titles, bumpers, stings, maps and TV graphics.

Sam Clarke – Senior Designer at Jump:

“Our concept was based around an ice world – an imaginary home for ice hockey. Everything was built using Maxon C4D and Adobe After Effects.

With the competition being held in different countries each year and with the graphic kits being used over the next 3 years meant the graphics package had to be designed with use of different competition brands. Therefore we took some small competition elements that could be easily updated and tweaked for the following years.

The titles, which are set within our imaginary ice world, contain footage representing participating countries. With limited time to represent every team some were showcased through their name or country flag.”

Peer Seitz – Head of Infront Productions:

“Infront Productions has a long standing partnership with Jump; the company’s creative insight, flexibility and responsiveness have been key to the delivery of several high-standard projects.

On the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship project in particular, Jump integrated event-specific branding into the on-screen-design-package, as well as a new team-specific colour-coding approach. This contributed to making each IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship World Feed a unique product that’s instantaneously recognisable.”
