EHF invite Jump to Cologne

Back in 2020, Jump won a 5 year contract with the European Handball Federation (EHF) and its marketing arm, EHF Marketing (EHFM) to design and produce all of the on-screen graphics for the EHF Champions League, EHF European League and the EHF European Handball Championships and Qualifiers for both the men’s and women’s competitions.

Recently, EHF invited Jump to go and watch the final games of group stages in the MEN’S EHF EURO 2024. Jump’s Head of Production Hannah Nicholls and Senior Designer Sam Clarke, excitedly packed their bags, set their alarm clocks incredibly early and headed off to Cologne.

Hannah Nicholls:

“Cologne was superb! We had some time to explore the city before the games and wandered around for hours looking at the architecture. The cathedral in particular was incredibly imposing. It’s hugely impressive inside and out. It was also the Cologne Carnival, so we saw plenty of interesting outfits.”

Sam Clarke:

“We saw three matches on the final day of the group stages – Austria v Iceland, Hungary v France and Germany v Croatia. The atmosphere for the Germany game was amazing. The German fans were incredible, keeping up their constant celebrating, chanting and scarf waving.

This was my first time watching handball live. I hadn’t appreciated how fast-paced the game was going to be. They are running up and down the court constantly. The scoring is generally high, there is a lot of back and forth to each goal. I also had never noticed how physical the game was.”

HN: “It’s so fast and the players are so agile. The goalkeepers are also ridiculously bendy and there were West End theatre-style high kicks going on!

We would like to say a very big thank you to our lovely clients, Jelena, JJ, Lena and Birgit for being such kind hosts. We really appreciated the invite and now feel a deeper love for handball as a result.”
