Jump in Prague for the UEFA Europa Conference League Final
Jump’s dynamic duo Sam Clarke and Aaron Randell (who is a life-long fan of West Ham) set their alarms super early, and took a quick little 24 hour trip out to Prague in Czech Republic to watch the UEFA Europa Conference League Final. The Italian club Fiorentina were taking on Aaron’s mighty Hammers at the Fortuna Arena.
Jump produce the match graphics for the world feed of the UEFA tournament – so it was great for some of the team to get out and watch a big game from the stands.
West Ham went on to win 2-1 with a dramatic 90th minute goal – much to the delight (and amazement) of Aaron.
Aaron Randell – Designer at Jump:
“We mostly had a very smooth journey out to Prague. Our 4am Uber driver was very talkative though – and at one point we did think he was going to cry. Maybe he was an Arsenal fan!
I’ve been a Hammers fan since birth. Dad is West Ham and my Grandad on my Mum’s side is too – so there wasn’t much option.
It’s hard to express the feeling of being a fan of a club that hasn’t won anything in your lifetime. It makes it feel so surreal to see it actually happen, let alone in person, at the game, in another country!
After the last minute goal there was just a lot of screaming and general disbelief. I hugged the stranger next to me and then the realisation hit that I needed to remain calm for the added time. I just sat down again with my head in my hands. But from when the final whistle blew until the trophy was lifted, everyone was singing every West Ham chant we knew. It was a truly unforgettable experience.”
